The Hartfield Singers have been enjoying singing and performing in Hartfield and the surrounding districts since 1975. We have seen a few changes along the way, of course, but our love of singing and rehearsing together remains. In recent times we have put on two concerts a year; one at Christmas and the other in late spring or early summer. We have sung a wide variety of music – from Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Mozart’s Solemn Vespers to modern day works and contemporary songs. A memorable concert in Coleman’s Hatch Church in May 2014 to commemorate the beginning of World War I, included diverse items such as movements from “The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace” by Karl Jenkins and “Fascinating Rhythm” by George and Ira Gershwin. Christmas concerts have seen us performing Medieval carols and seasonal music from across Europe as well as favourite Christmas songs.
If you enjoy singing, why not come along to one of our rehearsals which take place on Tuesday evenings in Trinity Hall, Coleman’s Hatch from 7.45pm to 9.45pm. No auditions necessary! For more details please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Hart-Throbs are Hartfield’s devotees of close harmony. We sing a wide range of music, from Barbershop to Beatles and beyond, and over the past few years have performed repertoire from the 16th to 21st century, including numerous bespoke arrangements of traditional tunes and carols.
Whatever the occasion, whether sacred or secular, solemn or swinging, the Hart-Throbs have music to match!
